Dirty, Filthy, Muddy Fun

It’s dirty, wet and powerful on your own off-road, 250cc 4-wheel quad. These vehicles have some serious power so you’ll have a blast as you climb seemingly impossible hills, blow through deep puddles and kick up dirt.

Many guests consider our ATV rides the highlight of their trip because not only do you get to feel the thrill of handling a powerful off-road vehicle, you’ll also get to see the spectacular Bali countryside.

We’ll make sure you can shower and clean off at the end and we’ll provide you with the safety gear (boots, helmets, etc) and instruction to take these babies where you want to go. When you return, we’ll have a nice Indonesian lunch prepared for you with coffee, tea and other beverages.

Overview

The Bali ATV rides are definitely a visitor favorite. The original ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) was a 3-wheeler, but all our vehicles are quads now so you get four wheels of off-road madness.

There are three sessions throughout the day, one in the morning, afternoon and late afternoon. Each session allows for 2 hours trekking on your ATV and some additional time training and eating.

As always, our friendly, English-speaking driver will pick you up in our air conditioned van and bring you to the starting point located near Tanah Lot Temple. There you’ll meet your guide who will provide you with your Quad, safety gear and instruction. You’ll go through some practice starting your engine, turning it off, turning, climbing and puddle riding. We’ll make sure you’re comfortable with your vehicle before we start the trek.

Once everyone is ready, we’ll head off to the trails and see some magnificent countryside including rice fields, jungle, rivers, hills and even the beach. If it has been raining, we’ll make sure you have boots and rain gear, but plan on getting wet. This is not a clean activity, but ooooh, so much fun.

Your guides are responsible for cleaning off the vehicles so feel free to get them as muddy and dirty as you want. We encourage you to try some thrilling terrain as long as nobody is reckless or dangerous.

Upon your return, you’ll have a chance to shower and change into clean clothes (hopefully you brought some). When everyone is cleaned up, we’ll sit down for a traditional Indonesian breakfast or lunch, served by your guides.

Please be advised that this activity can get quite dirty. If there has been rain, the rivers will be higher so you will likely get wet and muddy. We strongly urge you to wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting dirty and wet.

CANCELLATION:

We try to accommodate your cancellation requests as best we can, but please note that the fee is nonrefundable if you cancel on the day of your ride. This is because we have made other commitments and schedule arrangements that cannot not be changed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Safety Policy

There is nothing more important to us than your enjoyment other than your safety. It’s on everyone’s mind.

That’s why Bali Trekking Exploration has a Safety Policy for every trek and activity. Our guides and drivers are all licensed and professionals at what they do. Your ATV guides are experienced and will never push you beyond your limits. They will keep you on challenging, but safe trails. They will also not let anyone ride unless he or she fully understands how to steer, break and safely operate their assigned all-terrain-vehicle.

FAQ

Can we ride two on a Quad?
Yes. Some people may not feel comfortable with the power of these Quads, but still want to enjoy the scenery and trails. In such cases, tandem riding is encouraged. For insurance reasons, we do not allow children under the age of 16 to control the Quad, but they may ride tandem.
What happens if someone gets injured?
In the case of accident, our guides are trained in basic first aid and rescue procedures. If you or someone in your group is hurt, our guide will immediately assess the situation and determine if evacuation is necessary. If so, the rescue team will arrive and help the individual to safety and then to the nearest hospital. An attempt will be made to notify the next of kin.
What type of vehicles will we ride?
Quads are four-wheel, All Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s). The come with a powerful 250cc engine and are designed specifically for the kind of off-road trails we take them on. They are much safer than the old, three-wheel ATV’s, which we no longer use.
